Nazanin Noori is a Berlin-based artist whose interdisciplinary practice spans installation, sound, composition, live and lecture performance, directing, and writing. Drawing on her background in theatre, film, and media studies, she explores the interplay of sound, space, sculpture, and post-dramatic poetry. Her work engages with religious and media power structures, examining how experiences of spirituality, protest, and collective truth are appropriated, distorted, or instrumentalised. Her hypnoacoustic compositions form a distinct sonic language, for which she coined the term Ambient Hardcore.

Noori began her artistic practice in 2016 with compositions for theatre and art films. Her debut album FARCE was released by the label enmossed. Her 54-minute sound work HAAL premiered in 2021 as part of the Berliner Festspiele exhibition The Sun Machine Is Coming Down at the ICC, and was later broadcast by Deutschlandfunk Kultur.

Her work has been presented internationally in institutions and venues such as EIGEN + ART Lab, Auto Italia, the Akademie der Künste Berlin, CCA Berlin, M Leuven, Haus der Kulturen der Welt, and the Eye Filmmuseum, as well as within the Transmediale festival. She has been an artist-in-residence at the Junge Akademie der Künste, Rupert, and Callie’s. Her theatre works have been staged at the Maxim Gorki Theater, the Deutsches Theater, and the Berliner Ensemble. Her sound works have been broadcast by international radio platforms including Mutant Radio, Deep House Tehran, and Refuge Worldwide, where she has held a residency since 2021. In 2026, Nazanin Noori was awarded the ars viva Prize for Visual Arts.

Fabian Schöneich is the executive director and artistic director of the CCA Berlin – Center for Contemporary Arts, which he founded in 2022.

Previously, he was a curator at Portikus in Frankfurt (2014–2018) and worked as an assistant curator at the Kunsthalle Basel and at the Kunstinstituut Melly (formerly the Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art) in Rotterdam.
