Artist Talk
Nazanin Noori, Fabian Schöneich
Event
29 August 2026, 17:00 Free entry, no registration required
Duration: 60 min., including Q&A
Nazanin Noori speaks with Fabian Schöneich, director of the CCA Berlin, who curated her first institutional solo exhibition in 2024, The Echo of Protest Is Distant to the Protest.
Her current installation in the monastery ruins, BEHOLD GOD IN ALL THAT EXISTS IN HIS NAME, uses repurposed, illuminated runway signs from aviation that display the work’s title as a continuous line of light within the ruins—a continuation of her interest in appropriating official, systemic forms of representation.
The conversation focuses on Noori’s overall practice, which spans art, theater, and music. Noori and Schöneich discuss how she creates meaning through sound, sculpture, and text; the role symbols and signs play in her work; and the political dimension that runs through her body of work.
In 2026, Noori was awarded the ars viva Prize for Visual Arts.
