New Publication: Minor Histories
Released July 2025 with Ness Books

We are pleased to announce the release of Minor Histories, a new publication that reflects on a year-long program at Klosterruine Berlin, curated by Juliane Bischoff between June 2024 and April 2025.

Situated within the architectural and historical context of the 13th-century monastery ruins, the publication brings together contemporary artistic practices—spanning performance, sculpture, poetry, and sound—to examine how histories are constructed, remembered, and reimagined.

Between June 2024 and April 2025, the site-responsive sculptural intervention anything, anything by Kate Newby engaged in a dialogue with the changing environment of Klosterruine Berlin. It provided a conceptual and material framework for the performances that followed, featuring contributions by Chloe Chignell, Bryana Fritz & Stefa Govaart, Mira Mann with Domi Chansorn, Carmen Gheorghe & Elisa R. Linn, Leyla Yenirce, Schlechte Wörter (Logan February, Moshtari Hilal, Nazanin Noori, Tanasgol Sabbagh, Fabian Saul, Ralph Tharayil & Mathias Zeiske), Mikołaj Sobczak, and others.

Minor Histories presents a conceptual documentation of the performances, accompanied by literary excerpts and facsimiles that position the performances within broader historical and poetic lineagesTexts range from the mystical writings of 13th-century author Marguerite Porete to works by William Blake, Kim Hyesoon, Solmaz Sharif, OMARA (Mara Oláh), and contemporary authors such as Enis Maci and Mazlum Nergiz. The publication also includes newly commissioned writing by Miriam Stoney and is designed by Espace Ness (Sophie Rentien Lando).
