Guided tours of the historical monument of Klosterruine
For Open Monument Day 2025

The former Franciscan monastery church near Alexanderplatz is one of the oldest preserved monuments in Berlin and is closely linked to the city‘s founding history. On Open Monument Day, guided tours highlight the history of the Klosterruine.

Under this year’s motto, we are addressing the question of what makes the Klosterruine unique and irreplaceable as a monument. The guided tours with architecture and art historian Dirk Schumann and Dr. Maximilian Krämer, Department of Art, Culture and History of the Mitte district office, will shed light on the history of the building and its use. Selected historical burial monuments will also be explained in more detail.
