Angelika Middendorf was a master student (Meisterschülerin) at the Berlin University of the Arts, where she used her work to explore themes of perception and the construction of reality. Her time-based work works are often developed as snapshots of highly complex realities. The results are minimalist interventions and spatial installations which open an experimental window on space and time. Middendorf’s formal language has always been open, and she works with inter-media formats including video installations, performative interventions and photography. In the series »[statement & dialogue]« she shows her work A THOUSAND AND ONE SEC. [IN_SPACE]. A drop of water hangs suspended in a white, apparently gravity-free space. Through technical experiments with parabolic flight, the beauty of the drop of water becomes a metaphor for an ideal world, the constructed surface of which the artist fragments with short documentary images from the history of science in the previous century.

Since 2011, Anna Borgman and Candy Lenk have been developing a collaborative artistic work. Both studied at the Arts Academy of Weissensee in Berlin, and together they run a studio in Berlin-Wedding. Their area of operations is public space, which the two artists use as a source of inspiration and with which their work develops close connections. They see their installations, which are often large-scale, as spatial layers of a specific location and interventions into the connections between people, history and situations. For the minster ruins they have developed the work RADIATOR, a ten metre-high steel pipe sculpture. This work combines the sacred fragments of the minster with the monumental, closed circuit pipeline to create a temporary spatial ensemble. For Borgman | Lenk the spatially intrusive RADIATOR symbolises an absurd, functionless interior of the minster ruins. As a technical device it creates warm thoughts, say the creative duo, which nevertheless remain ineffective in the conserved, frozen fragments of the ruins.
